The Sprint Goal is an objective set for the Sprint that can be met through the implementation of the Product Backlog / Product Backlog items. It provides guidance to the Development Team on why it is building the Increment.
Sprint goal is something that Development Team is forecasting to achieve and it does it by following Product Backlog items selected for the Sprint, so Sprint Backlog items. I would shortened the sentence to: "(...) can be met through the implementation of Sprint Backlog."

I definitely agree that should be replaced with "Sprint Backlog" or "selected PBI's" to give right context.

The Business should identify what the Project Goal is, and then the PO should then give the Sprint Goal to the Team at the start of Sprint Planning so that the Team can select the Product Backlog items that best satisfies the Sprint Goal.
or better "Sprint Backlog"
